Many of you have asked whether it is necessary to offer Managed Print Solutions. Many feel that the concept is "decades old and it hasn't really effected us, so is it just a fad or is it real?" The short answer (best for a blog) is: It really depends on whether you want to protect your existing large accounts and land new large ones. If you do, the answer is an unequivocal, "you may not be able to survive without some type of Managed Print offering!

I vote for MPS not being a Fad, but certainly in 5 years, MPS will not look the same as it does today.
And although many think that MPS is the same as it was 10 years ago - this is wrong.
Ten years ago MPS may have been supported by folks filling cartridges in their garage at night.
Today, MPS goes from supplies to machines to data storage to digital document flow; all encompassing.

Greg, I couldn't agree with you more. The cartridge technology is vastly improved from the past and the technology to capture, manage and actually use the data from Managed Print is greatly improved also.
